Colour coding allows users to issue specific colours and types for various challenge areas within your organisation, matching the right microfibre cloth type to specific problem areas. We provide a free advisory service enabling management to meet a colour coded cloth system where all colours are then batch washed, then segregated back into store. This means that your organisation ensures that colour denotes a cloth technology ideally suited for that specific work area.
Purchasing bulk of one type of coloured microfibre cloth for the entire organisation is the worst possible misuse of microfibre technology benefits, miss-matching cloth types to whatever challenges exist

Microfibre Cloth Technology

We would like to provide you with technical information about Paragon core products, microfibre cloths. With over 20 years of experience in the microfibre industry Paragon has unique knowledge in this manufacturing sector. We hope this web page will explain the many differences and advantages each style and type of microfibre cloth delivers, as there is no such magic product – one cloth does everything

What are microfibre cloths made from..?

Microfibre is a synthetic fibre. The material used is mainly polyester, polyamide and nylon. These materials are then woven together and dipped through a chemical process to break down the fibres. This process is known as splitting. The fibres get split down and even ultra-split (depending on the polyamide content) for premium products to be as small as 1/300th the diameter of a human hair. The higher the Polyamide content, the softer the cloth will be.

Many ask, why do the fibres need to be that small..?

Years of experience tell us that when fibres get split down to that size, the cloth becomes super-beneficial for collecting grime, debris, dust, and absorbing moisture. Each microscopic strand can absorb and hold onto the entrapped debris instead of pushing it about the surface being cleaned, due to its ultra fine micro fibres. In addition, microfibres reach and remove dirt and grime other cleaning cloth types may miss.
Microfibres cloths are especially efficient when used dry as these tiny fibres create a positive static charge which attracts, drawing-in dust and dirt. Unlike cotton cloths which make a negative static charge, pushing dust and dirt away. When wet, microfibres have a unique capillary action, which draws in moisture.
In addition to their amazing cleaning power, microfibre cloths are known for their durability. These cloths can withstand hundreds of washings without losing their effectiveness, making them a highly cost-effective cleaning solution. Microfibre cloths dry quickly and do not leave behind lint or fibres, which can be a problem with traditional cleaning cloths. Microfibre cloths are lightweight, easy to handle and store, taking up less space than conventional cleaning cloths.
Microfibre cloths are environmentally friendly as they can be washed and re-used multiple times, reducing the need for disposable cleaning products. Microfibre washing uses less energy as a cooler wash, and less water, being the ideal choice for organisations wishing to meet their Climate Change, recycling, and Environmental obligations.
In most general cleaning applications, you will not need chemicals. Instead, just add water and the cloth will collect and hold onto soiling until washed, removing up to 99.9% bacteria and germs. For more challenging cleaning and disinfection applications use with a premium biocide is extremely effective.

What are the benefits of different weave types..?

We offer many different cloths in a wide selection of weaves, which may be confusing, therefore can we explain how to select the right weave and product to meet your needs.

Short Pile

We offer four short-pile Terry style weaves – EcoWipes, recycled EcoWipes, Premiums and seamless Terry. These cloths are excellent for scrubbing and removing dirt and grime from surfaces. In addition, these short pile microfibre cloths are particularly effective cleaning kitchens, pre areas, stainless steel and tiled surfaces removing and lifting heavy stains.

Plush Weave

Plush Weave have longer denser piles like our 1000gsm Seamless Fleece, Terry 450gsm (also has a short pile of the reverse side) and Whisper Soft are much softer cloths and towels making them far more absorbent, ideal for cleaning and dusting sensitive surfaces.

Pearl Knit

We offer two cloths with Pearl Knit weaves. This is a super-tight weave made t the highest possible quality. If these cloths are cared for properly, they can last many years.

Waffle Weave

Our Waffle cloth pattern weave allows the microfibre cloth to hold, retain and absorb water much more efficiently than a normal drying towel.

Flat Weave & Fish Scale

These traditional glass cleaning cloths have a flat weave design that is much more delicate than usual microfibre cloths allowing for a far more controlled absorption rate which is easier to rinse hence avoids streaking and wipe marks. Glass cloths are designed more to, polish than clean, however, our Fish Scale weave cloths both polish and clean. These are ideal for any large surface area glass including windows and

Microfibre on the roll

For rapid cleaning where laundering is not required, we supply microfibre on the roll. There are a wide selection of colours and types. Please ask for more information.

How to Care for your Microfibre Cloths

We recommend washing our cloths about 40 degC. Our cloths are made from the highest quality fabrics, which allows washing up to 95 degC. Some shrinkage will occur (up to 5%) in the initial ten or so washes. Our cloths can be tumble-dried, which is beneficial as tumbling opens up the fibres. Finally, unlike most other microfibre cloths our fibres will not burn at elevated temperatures, which is problem other manufacturers hide.
It is advised to not use any fabric softeners or conditioners when washing our microfibre cloths, as these leave a coating on fibres preventing them working efficiently.
If you use our cloths on very sticky, glue-like debris or exceptionally thick dirt it is advisable to throw that cloth away as apart from scratching surfaces during use, that over-load may result in cross-contamination therefore it is safer to dispose of, than attempt washing.

Paragon top-performing cloths are….

Most Affordable…. EcoWipes

EcoWipes are far superior to traditional J-Cloths and supermarket microfibre cloths. We have designed our cleaning cloths to then highest quality possible at very affordable prices. You can launder these cloths for over 300 times and if cared for properly can last for many years.

Top Cleaning cloths …. Premiums

These Premium microfibre cloths contain a mix of 70% polyester and 30% polyamide. The content is what makes these cloths ‘Premium’. The higher the polyamide content is, the absorbent and softer the cloth is. Adding too much polyamide would be detrimental as the fibres would weaken and could break down. Years of expertise enables us to balance absorbency to longevity and peak performance.

Our best drying cloth/towel…… Diamond Weave

Our high-tech 500gsm Diamond Weaver Drying Towel is the best on the market, with the highest absorption rate to any other cloth we offer. These cloths are constructed of a sandwich technique of three super-absorbent microfibre cloths yet easy to clean, rinse and dry out.
